Job Description
Pod1, Inc. is looking for skilled freelance front-end developers to work on various projects, and to join our agency network as a trusted freelancer.
There is an immediate requirement for the month of January 2012, with a start date of January 3rd, 2011.
In addition to this opening, Pod1 has several upcoming projects which we would call upon you for if you are the right candidate.
You’ll be working alongside visual designers, interactive designers and software engineers under the direction of our Technical Leads.
Required:
- 3-4 years experience developing standards-based, semantic and well-formatted HTML and CSS
- 2-3 years experience working with Javascript and Javascript frameworks such as jQuery, Prototype and YUI
- Experience translating PSD comps and wireframes/guidelines into flexible, well thought out HTML templates
- Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues, from IE7 and Firefox 3.5 to all modern browsers
- Familiarity with usability guidelines and W3C AAA accessibility standards
- Familiarity with basic PHP structure / syntax
- Knowledge of Wordpress and it’s template flow
- Comfortable working closely with a UX/IA team
- Knowledge of SEO best practices
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be available to work on site
Preferred:
- Experience with the Magento Platform
- Experience with version control software (specfically SVN)
- Comfortable working within MVC frameworks and CMS platforms (Wordpress)
- Comfortable working with Flash and ActionScript
- Some experience with server-side scripting (PHP, Python, etc)
- Familiarity with the Google Maps API
- Interactive web agency experience
