18.10.2006 Pleasure Like No Other

Luxury lingerie brand Myla commissioned Pod1 to design a viral campaign to celebrated the launch of their new 'Sphere”, the latest addition to their designer accessory range. The online video viral campaign is inspired by the award-winning Sony Bravia advert. The 30-second video, which replaces the streets of San Francisco with those of Notting Hill, features thousands of Spheres bouncing down the streets around Myla's flagship boutique. Shot entirely on 35mm film, the Sphere teaser perfectly captures the beauty of the original while adding a couple of little twists of its own. A cute dog replaces the jumping frog from the original and in a subtle nod to the recent Tango parody it also features a fruit filled basket on an old bicycle. Although unlike the original, the Myla pastiche ends in a much more revealing way, ending on a fittingly sensual note. Musically Myla's version utilises the ethereal vocal talents of Bev Lee Harling, an unsigned jazz vocalist, who really has to be heard to be believed, providing the perfect complement to director Vince John's stunning visuals. Director of Pod1, Fadi Shuman commented, 'Myla wanted a picture-perfect campaign in order to capture that dreamy mystery that surrounds the elegance of the brand. We loved the original concept and thought this would be a great twist on a brilliant idea, so we pulled together a very skilled team both on the shoot and in post-production to make sure we achieved it. In fact, the end result far exceeded our expectations, we're very proud of the final cut.” Myla added; 'We felt that it was perfectly suited to our brand, which is all about the love of beautiful, sensual things. On top of that, we thought that giving it a mischievous twist at the end would help push the message even further. It just goes to show how artistic and well-crafted a little bit of fun can be.” Click here to view the clip in full
