10.11.2006 Pod1 Delivers Awards for Hotel Industry Clients

Pod1 has brought home two silvers in The W3 Awards, specifically in the Hotel & Lodging category, for its work with Paramount Hotels and with Mr & Mrs Smith. The results were announced in California by The International Academy of the Visual Arts. There were an amazing 2,300 entries. Pod1's Hotel & Lodging entries were critically lauded design-wise, and much admired commercially because of their search engine effectiveness and remarkable traffic numbers. In the four months since Pod1's website for Paramount Hotels was launched there was an increase of 280% in website referrals with an astonishing 87% of all online traffic coming in via search engines. On April 1st this year Mr & Mrs Smith site traffic increased by more than 400% when the creatives at Pod1 seeded and distributed a spoof story outlining new government legislation banning the use of aliases when booking into hotels, effectively criminalising dirty weekends Sally Osbourne, Director of E-Commerce, Paramount Hotels, said: 'Working with Pod1 enabled us to realise the full potential of the Internet and the many online marketing opportunities available to us. We are delighted with the award. Pod1 also picked up awards for its work with rail automation specialists Invensys Rail Systems and fashion footwear brand Kangaroos. The W3 Awards is judged by The International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a Who's Who of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms.
