Client
Founded in 1968, the Chrysalis Group is the only public company in the UK to incorporate four key media sectors within its businesses: radio stations, music publishing and recording, book publishing, and mobile content delivery
Objective
The Chrysalis Group comprises more than 20 companies within four independent and very distinct divisions. For some time Chrysalis had faced an ongoing struggle in attempting to unite its staff. Therefore, it was desperately in need of a way to encourage and facilitate open communication and ideas-sharing between the different divisions of the company
Solution
Taking into account the complex structure of the Chrysalis Group, and the lack of cohesion and cooperation between the four divisions, Pod1 developed a highly dynamic, bespoke intranet that all users could access and contribute to. The system comprised news, document storage and management facilities and indispensable, everyday business collaboration tools. As well as overcoming all the common problems associated with implementing intranets (poor take-up, inflexible functionality, uncommunicative staff and limited ongoing refinement), Pod1 created a system that was not only highly effective and usable, but also fun – thus overcoming ingrained reticence and encouraging all the users to interact, contribute and communicate
Result
The structure and content of the intranet, and the innovative ways in which it was promoted to all divisions of the Chrysalis Group, ensured it was a huge success from the moment it launched. For the first time, the four divisions of the Group were united in a very fundamental way. Pod1 continues to do promotional and developmental work for the Chrysalis Group.
“Pod1 immediately got to grips with the challenges we faced as a multi-divisional group. The team came up with a unique, bespoke intranet that simply, and rapidly, resolved our longstanding, internal communication challenges. We couldn’t be more satisfied.”
