Established in 1947, Kenwood has become a world leader in the small domestic appliances market and a household name in more than 80 countries.

Objective

Kenwood’s previous website was a leftover from the earliest days of the Internet and the adverse association that was made by visitors was so bad that it was actually damaging the brand. Committed to taking a giant leap forward in terms of its online presence, Kenwood wanted a global showcase website that would service the needs of its distributors, users and customers worldwide. It was also imperative that the website serve as an effective platform for the company’s future marketing activities.

Solution

Pod1 revolutionised Kenwood’s online presence by creating an entirely new, bespoke Content Management System and online product catalogue showcasing the company’s full range of products. The web design was intended to be easily managed and updated by Kenwood, and is scaleable so it can evolve with the times and the needs of the company. Multi-language facilities and an inspired selection of interactive games, recipes and rich media features have also helped the website to generate a vast community of users.

Result

Thanks to Pod1, Kenwood’s new online presence has dramatically reinforced brand recognition across the world. Within two weeks of its launch the site amassed 10,000 membership registrations and within the first month it had generated 500,000 page impressions. The site continues to be highly successful.
